The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Afghanistan in Vienna represents Afghanistan in Austria and supports engagement with international organizations based in Vienna. The Mission also provides consular services and documentation support for Afghan nationals within its jurisdiction, subject to official procedures and applicable regulations.

In addition, we work to strengthen bilateral relations and promote cultural, social, and economic cooperation through dialogue, mutual understanding, and constructive engagement. By fostering collaboration and shared values, we aim to contribute to positive connections that benefit communities and support long-term cooperation.

To protect the rights and interests of Afghan nationals, deliver efficient and transparent consular services, support Afghan communities abroad, and represent Afghanistan with dignity while strengthening relations with host countries.

Our responsibilities

The Embassy is responsible for:

Issuing and renewing passports

Processing Afghan visas for foreigners

Providing document attestation & legalization

Handling birth, marriage, and death registrations

Offering emergency legal and travel assistance

Supporting refugees and Afghan nationals in need

Issuing and renewing passports

Promoting Afghan cultural and educational exchange
